What a way to kick off my international travels! I just landed in the Tokyo-Narita International Airport after a wonderful flight on United Airlines in business first class. To go along with my aspirations of being a business executive, I hope that flying business first will one day be the "norm" for me. I could definitely get used to three course meals, free alcohol, personal TVs and enough legroom to really stretch out. Needless to say, the 7ish hour flight from Honolulu to Tokyo was not too shabby.
One of the first things I noticed when I landed in Tokyo-Narita is that everything is translated into English and Chinese (Mandarin). The next thing that really caught my attention is how clean and quiet the entire airport is. It's 14:18 (I have to start getting used to military time aka normal for nearly the rest of the world) and the airport seems completely dead by American standards. Also, every airport employee I have seen so far has been extremely helpful and friendly. Did I mention the fact that there's free wi-fi throughout the airport? No 10 minute limit or annoying sponsor activities that seem to be in almost every U.S. airport I've been in. Step it up America!
